Green Hill Cemetery Research Collection
Collection consists of research on people buried at Green Hill Cemetery (Frankfort, Kentucky) conducted by Brenda Duvall. Included are copies of death certificates, newspaper obituaries and names from the Vital Statistics Death Index. Also included is an index of the collection completed by the African American Genealogy Group of Kentucky. The dates in this collection are approximately 1911-1977. |

Natchez Mississippi Slave Certificates 1858 - 1861
Pulled from a Record Book which contained "Certificates of Slaves," this is a transcription of the vital statistics of slaves brought from Kentucky and other states to Mississippi just before the Civil War. Almost one third of the book contained the first and last names of the slaves. 1608 entries searchable alphabetically by slave owner's last name, slave's first name, state, etc.

The Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade Database
The Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade Database has information on almost 36,000 slaving voyages, and identifies 91,491 Africans taken from captured slave ships or from African trading sites. It displays the African name, age, gender, origin, country, and places of embarkation and disembarkation of each individual. Look for particular voyages in this database of documented slaving expeditions. Create listings, tables, and maps that draw on the database.

More than eight million unpublished manuscripts relating to Virginians of African descent have been processed by the Virginia Historical Society. There are over 4000 names in the database.
